Interesting, I see this all the time driving through DC. In reality there are usually 2-3 times this many vehicles. It's quite a sight.

I saw them on Rt50 headed toward DC once, except there were about 2-3 dozen motorcycle cops .25-.5 miles ahead of the motorcade and there were marked vehicles that stopped traffic behind the motorcade.

The electronic warfare SUV is le awesome. Most details about it are classified, but it apparently jams every wireless signal in the vicinity, creating a localized 'dead' bubble. Prevents any terrorists from activating cell phone bombs or some such thing. They shuffle up the limos so you don't know which one holds el presidente, but the smart money says it's the one closest to the EW SUV.

The Spare vehicle comes in handy when you are trying to exit the US embassy in Dublin.
(I actually witnessed this happening and it was fucking Hilarious)
